During the challenges posed by the Covid pandemic, Crystalinda took initiative by creating music videos for the church, demonstrating her commitment to maintaining a vibrant musical presence. She assumed a leadership role in guiding the congregation through songs and frequently led musical sessions for the church. Her responsibilities extended to instructing the children of the church in simple songs as part of their religious education program. Crystalinda showcased versatility in her musical repertoire, encompassing church hymns, classical arias, pop, rock, folk, and more. Her linguistic proficiency was evident as she seamlessly delivered songs in diverse languages such as Italian, Latin, German, French, and more. Berklee Ensembles - During her tenure at Berklee College of Music, Crystalinda participated in several noteworthy ensembles, most notably under the esteemed instruction of Lisa Guyer, a distinguished singer and guitarist based on the East Coast. Within the "Women in Rock" ensemble, Crystalinda and her peers adeptly interpreted iconic rock songs sung by women throughout the years. In the "Pop/Rock" ensemble, she showcased her versatility by performing a diverse selection of pop and rock hits spanning from the 60s to contemporary chart-toppers. Choral Experience - Crystalinda's musical journey commenced at the age of two when she began singing with her church choir, marking the genesis of her enduring love for music. Remaining dedicated to choral involvement throughout her life, she has garnered extensive knowledge in performance techniques and vocal artistry. Her multifaceted skill set includes proficiency in singing across various languages, including but not limited to Italian, Latin, French, German, and Hebrew. Displaying exceptional leadership qualities, Crystalinda served as the president of both her school and church choir for several years, demonstrating adept fundraising abilities to support these musical communities. In addition to administrative responsibilities, she actively contributed to choir rehearsals and small performances as a leader. Over the years, Crystalinda sought and excelled in challenging musical environments, participating in esteemed choirs such as Honors Choir, Sacra Profana, San Diego Gay Men's Chorus, and Audire. Her profound passion for choral music manifests not only in her participation but also in its integration into her original compositions, showcasing a commitment to musical excellence and artistic expression.
Solo Experience - In addition to her aforementioned roles, Crystalinda has had the privilege of showcasing her talent as a soloist within her local community, primarily in San Diego but also extending to performances in Boston. Venues that have hosted her performances include the Looking Glass Theater, Alpine Music Festival, Balboa Park, and private events for local school board members. Crystalinda is committed to honing her vocal expertise, consistently engaging in private lessons and attending specialized vocal classes. During her tenure at Berklee, she received guidance under the instruction of esteemed professionals, including Sara Bielanski and Lisa Guyer. While in San Diego she studied with other professionals such as Roxane Carrasco, Ken Anderson, Bill Doyle, and Lynn Mendoza-Kahn. These experiences have equipped Crystalinda with the versatility to excel in various genres, encompassing classical music, pop, rock, folk, musical theater, show tunes, jazz and more. Notably, she is currently in the process of creating and performing her inaugural pop single, a testament to her ongoing commitment to artistic growth and innovation.
